Ruth's Chris During Restaurant Week is as Flawless as Ruth's Chris Any Other Week

'Twas a special occasion, so we decided to get all dolled up and venture out to Ruth's Chris for an upscale steakhouse experience last night.

What was the special occasion, you ask? A $30 meal (including a filet mignon!) at Ruth's Chris. Obviously.

We were seated near the windows of the buzzing dining room and spent our first moments in the restaurant enjoying view of the snowy, sparkling Plaza. Can you think of a more pleasant way to end an exhausting week than settling into a dimly lit, warm steakhouse, sipping on cocktails, and noshing on steamy, crusty bread with light-as-air dollops of whipped butter?

Suffice it to say that the three-course Restaurant Week menu did not disappoint. For our first course, we were offered a Steakhouse Salad, Caesar Salad, or a soup. Understanding the value of tummy real estate during Restaurant Week, we opted for the Caesar -- which arrived peeking out from a generous pile of shaved parmesan -- and resisted the temptation to choose a filling soup, as the main event was bound to be spectacular.

And spectacular it was. We (naturally) went with the Filet and Shrimp (other choices last night included a Stuffed Chicken Breast and a salmon dish), which arrived sizzling in a buttery sauce on a scorching hot plate. We don't even need to say it, but: the six-ounce filet was juicy, tender, and worth every teensy calorie.

One side item was served with each of the two filet entrees at the table; we had the Creamed Spinach (seriously, get the creamed spinach) and the Sauteed Mushrooms -- both were served family-style.

For dessert, we went for the Chocolate Sin Cake (what? It was Friday night!), a sky-high slice of velvety heaven, with an almost-cheesecake-like texture and hints of espresso in every bite.

Food: Outstanding. Service: flawless. Price: unbeatable.

Me and my Husband visited Ruth's Chris on Wednesday evening for the first time. It was outstanding in everyway, from the best steak I have every had, the service, to the unbeatable value. I would highly recommend Ruth's Chris.
